Who we are

Blazing Trail Engineering ("we", "us", "our") is a full energy solutions company based in Lagos, Nigeria, and is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us through this site:

  • Name, phone number, email address and message content submitted through the contact form, quote request form, and sizing calculator.
  • Details you describe to the financing/installment advisor tool (e.g. budget, appliances, timeline). This is processed by our AI provider to generate a recommendation and, if you leave a phone number, stored as a lead for our team to follow up.
  • Testimonial submissions, including your name, role/company (if given), and review text. These are reviewed by our team before being published publicly on the site.
  • Basic technical and usage data collected automatically through Google Analytics and Meta Pixel (see "Cookies and analytics" below) if those are active on this site.

Why we collect it, and our legal basis

We use this information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, schedule site visits and installations, provide after-sales support, and, where you've agreed to be contacted, follow up on leads generated through our tools. We process contact-form and quote-request data on the basis of your consent in submitting the form and our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry you initiated. Where we retain your details after a completed project, we do so under the contract for that project.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. It is shared only with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf to run this site: our hosting providers, and Groq (which powers the financing advisor tool, processing only the message you type into that tool).
  • Google and Meta, if analytics/advertising pixels are active on this site, under their own privacy policies.
  • Regulators or authorities where we're legally required to disclose information.

Cookies and analytics

This site may use Google Analytics and/or Meta Pixel to understand how visitors use the site and measure the effectiveness of our forms and pages. These tools may set cookies and collect technical data such as your approximate location, device type, and pages visited. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and manage ad personalization through your Meta ad preferences.

International data transfer

Some of the service providers above (hosting, analytics, and our AI provider) may process data on servers located outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we rely on those providers' own data protection safeguards and standard contractual protections consistent with NDPA requirements for cross-border transfer.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry and lead data for as long as reasonably needed to respond to it and follow up, and project-related data for the duration of any warranty or support period plus a reasonable retention period afterward for our own records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; see "Your rights" below.

Your rights under the NDPA

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal data we hold about you and why.
  • Request a copy of your data, or ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data, or restrict how we use it, subject to any legal or contractual reason we may need to keep it.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where our processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe we've mishandled your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for businesses and adult consumers seeking energy solutions, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you share with us, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our admin systems, and rate limiting and spam protection on public forms. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our tools or practices change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
